Privacy Policy

Muyu Reader (“Muyu”, “we”, “us”) is a graded Chinese reading service. The public website and current mobile app are designed to work without an account.

1. Information stored on your device

The Web reader stores words you choose to save in your browser’s local storage. The current mobile app may also store reading progress, saved words, review history, preferences, and downloaded audio locally on your device. This information is not synced to a Muyu account in the current release.

2. Advertising and tracking

Muyu Reader does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell personal information. The current app does not ask for access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise location.

3. Content delivery and network information

When you visit the website, load an illustration, or download story audio, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes the technical information normally required to deliver and protect the service. This may include an IP address, browser or device information, the requested file, and request time. We use this information only for content delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, and security.

4. Subscriptions and purchases

Where Muyu Premium is available, payment is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Muyu Reader uses RevenueCat as a service provider to verify subscription status, restore purchases, and provide purchased access. RevenueCat may process a pseudonymous app-user identifier, product and transaction identifiers, purchase history, subscription status, and related technical information. Muyu Reader does not receive your complete payment-card details.

5. Support communications

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, device or browser, app version, story or chapter, screenshots, and a description of the issue. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, and improve Muyu.

6. Sharing, security, and retention

We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to host content, verify purchases, or provide support, or when required by law. Network requests use HTTPS. Hosting logs, purchase-verification records, and support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for delivery, security, troubleshooting, legal obligations, and maintaining purchased access. Device-local learning records remain until you remove them or delete the app, subject to device backups.

7. Your choices and deletion

You can remove a saved word from the reader or clear Muyu site data in your browser. Deleting the mobile app removes its locally stored records and downloads, subject to your device backup settings. You can manage or cancel a subscription in the store account used for purchase. The current release does not provide a Muyu account, so there is no Muyu cloud account to delete. Future account, cloud-sync, or analytics features will require this policy to be updated before those features are introduced.

8. Children

Muyu is an educational reading tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians should supervise a child’s device and store settings.

9. Changes and contact
